The races from Final Fantasy 11 are all available in Final Fantasy 14, however their appearances have been altered and their race-names and back stories are entirely different. The main aim of the similarity between FF11 and FF14 was to add an air of familiarity to the game.

Character creation is much more flexible than seen in Final Fantasy 11. Skin, hair, eye colour and hair style is all selectable. The additions of clans within the race. You can also see tangible facial expressions in FF14 which vary depending on various actions performed in an out of battle.
