Final Fantasy 14 is available on the Playstation 3 and the Windows PC platforms. There are talks of development for XBox 360 but the development team have said that they have yet to reach a deal with Microsoft.

One very good feature is the ability to seamlessly switch platforms. The servers that run FF14 will be platform independent meaning that you could purchase FF14 on both your PS3 and PC and switch between them, being able to pick up where you left off.

A more realistic application for this is being able to log into your account at the house of a friend who has a different platform to you. While a relatively small feature, it should improve usability a great deal for the players of FF14.
